The Letitia Coxe Shelby Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was formed on October 21, 1949, with Mrs. Enoch E. Simms as organizing Regent. Letitia Coxe Shelby, for whom the chapter is named, was the wife of Brigadier General Evan Shelby of Virginia, and Mrs. Simms is one of their direct descendants. Letitia and Evan's son, Isaac, became the first Governor of Kentucky.

 Who are DAR members? They are women a lot like you, from diverse backgrounds, and have a variety of interests. Their common bond is their lineal descent from patriots of the American Revolution - any woman above the age of 18, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage, is eligible to join.

Our meetings are held monthly September to June. We meet on Friday mornings with three Saturday mornings a year. Most members are from La Mesa, San Diego - East County, Mountain Empire District, San Diego - South Bay, and San Diego. Local residency is not a requirement for membership in any chapter. Prospective members are welcome to our chapter meetings. Please contact our Registrar We would love to have you join us!
